We purchased through local merchant in Alaska couch for 988 and opted to try lease purchase ending up costing us 49 payments of 41.30 (1610.70) and one payment of 92.85 for a total of $2116.55. Contract was set for 2188.78 and called to pay off early.
Representative said we would need to pay 92.85 that would have reflected a savings of 63.03 then the company again took out 41.30 after the pay off therefore no savings. I strongly suggest that this company fully disclose all terms of commitment rather than hiding "fees" without consumer knowledge.
This is poor business practice. In addition contract states could be returned at anytime however merchant refuses to accept returns and this was not defined in contract.
Reason of review: Failure to fully disclose.
Monetary Loss: $75.
Preferred solution: Fully disclose in alaignment with Alaska Statutes and stop taking money reflecting sales tax where maximum sales tax on ALASKA RESIDENTS IS 30 DOLLARS..
I didn't like: Failure to communicate, Being misinformed.
